Our Essence Hair Oil is a lightweight blend created for finer hair, low-porosity hair, and those who prefer a lighter oil. It contains many of the same nourishing oils as our Soothe Hair Oil, but without the added essential oil blend.
Formulated with two plant derived conditioning agents, Ethylhexyl Olivate + Isoamyl Laurate for extra softness, slip, and shine without a heavy or greasy feel. Ethylhexyl Olivate helps smooth and condition the hair, while Isoamyl Laurate improves spreadability and gives the hair a silky, lightweight finish.
Our blend of botanical oils and Ayurvedic herbs like Pumpkin, Amla, Black Seed, Fenugreek & more helps to encourage growth, nourish dry hair and scalp while supporting healthier-looking hair, reduced breakage, and length retention.
Some of these ingredients in our oils have also been linked to providing natural DHT blocking benefits to aid in hair loss and increasing hair count.

Oil color may naturally vary from yellowish to greenish due to the oils and herbs used. Small traces of herbs may occasionally remain after straining and are completely normal.

Hair Growth and Nourishing Benefits:
AYURVEDIC HERBAL BLEND:
A nutrient-rich blend of Fenugreek, Saw Palmetto, Moringa, Chebe, Bhringraj, Pumpkin Seed, Cloves, and MORE that supports hair growth, inhibit DHT, nourishes the scalp, strengthens strands, reduces breakage, and promotes thicker, longer, healthier-looking hair.
A 2023 clinical study involving 80 participants found that a topical saw palmetto formulation increased hair density by approximately 7.6% and reduced hair shedding by 22%.
PUMPKIN SEED OIL:
Studied for its potential DHT-blocking properties through inhibition of 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme involved in DHT production. A 2014 clinical study found a 40% increase in hair count after 24 weeks , supporting its potential for hair growth and density.
AMLA OIL:
Rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants that help nourish and strengthen hair, reduce breakage, and support healthy growth. Traditionally used for its potential DHT-inhibiting properties.
BLACK CUMIN SEED OIL:
Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids that support hair growth, thickness, and scalp health. A small 2017 study reported a 76% reduction in hair shedding. A 2013 clinical study involving 20 women experiencing excessive hair shedding found that 70% of those treated with a black seed oil lotion showed improvement after three months. Researchers also observed improvements in hair density, thickness, and scalp inflammation.

JOJOBA OIL:

An olive oil-derived, lightweight emollient and silicone alternative (not a silicone) that enhances hair softness, smoothness, and shine. Provides excellent slip, helps reduce friction and tangling, supports moisture retention, and leaves hair feeling silky and conditioned without a heavy, greasy residue.
ISOAMYL LAURATE:
A lightweight, plant-derived silicone alternative (not a silicone)that improves hair slip, softness, shine, and manageability. Helps smooth the hair cuticle, reduce friction and tangling. Leaves hair feeling silky, lightweight, and easier to detangle, which may help reduce mechanical breakage.

Use:
For the LCO Method- Liquid, Leave In or Cream, Oil
On wet hair apply one of our Leave Ins onto the hair shaft, then lightly apply the hair oil overtop and massage into the hair also focusing on the ends. Leave in until your wash day.
For pre- shampoo oil treatment method: First brush your hair and massage your scalp. Apply the oil onto the hair and scalp and be sure to massage it into the scalp for a few minutes. Use onto the ends of the hair and work up the hair shaft. We recommend using as an oil treatment 1-3x a week. Leave in a few hours, and then wash out with shampoo (may need to shampoo 2x) and conditioner. Follow up with a leave in conditioner spray or cream. Style as usual. Redo the cycle whenever needed.

Hair Oiling Shedding?
We created two oils for your hair oiling and hair growth routines. Our Soothe oil is a thicker oil with essential oils while our Essence oil is a lighter oil with Pumpkin Seed. Both of our oils contain ingredients that have been used for centuries to increase hair growth, length retention, hair shine, prevent scalp dryness, and to strengthen damaged hair.
When it comes to hair shedding, it is important to understand that shedding hair is normal and on average a person will shed between 50-100 hairs a day and some even more! (American Academy of Dermatology). When introducing hair oiling as a first time oiler, the shedding can be alarming, however, it is completely normal!
Massaging and oiling your hair will make the weaker, damaged hair shed out faster to increase the strength of your hair and bring in stronger hair follicles. Shedding from hair oiling is temporary so do not be alarmed. It is normal for someone who is new to oiling their hair to experience shedding at the beginning. I tried both oils on each side of my edges where I’m losing hair. I really have no complaints for both. My hair is more on the coily side so I prefer the original because I like the thicker consistency on my hair. But I have seen a good difference on each side since trying them both. I do like this one a lot but the original is my favorite. 😍 Someone with a looser curl type than mine may prefer this one more.
