Care for
Your Hair

Finding the right products and routine for your hair can feel overwhelming. At Nyche Hair, our goal is to make caring for your hair easier with products designed to support moisture, manageability, strength, scalp care, and length retention.

Healthy hair care isn't one-size-fits-all. Your texture, curl pattern, porosity, density, styling habits, and individual needs can all affect which products and techniques work best for you.

Understanding Your Hair

Knowing how your hair behaves can make choosing a routine much easier.

Hair Type & Curl Pattern

Hair is commonly grouped into straight, wavy, curly, and coily textures. You may even have more than one curl or texture pattern throughout your head—and that's completely normal.

Curl pattern can help you understand how your hair behaves, but it shouldn't be the only factor you consider when choosing products.

Why Texture Matters

Tighter curl and coil patterns can be more prone to dryness because natural scalp oils have a more difficult path traveling down the bends of the hair strand.

This can make moisture, gentle handling, and protection especially important—but every hair type can experience dryness, buildup, breakage, or damage.

Hair Porosity

How Does Your Hair Hold Moisture?

Low Porosity

Hair may absorb moisture more slowly. Lightweight, water-based products and lighter layering may work especially well.

Medium Porosity

Hair generally absorbs and retains moisture relatively well and may respond to a wide variety of products.

High Porosity

Hair may absorb moisture quickly but also lose it more quickly. Rich conditioning and sealing can be helpful.

Remember: Porosity is a guide—not a rule. Products can work across different porosities depending on your hair and how you use them.
Your Routine

8 Steps to a Complete Wash Day

Build your routine around what your hair actually needs.

01

Cleanse

Healthy hair care starts with a clean scalp and hair. Focus shampoo primarily on your scalp and roots, gently massaging to loosen oil, sweat, dead skin, and product buildup.

Allow the shampoo to move through the lengths as you rinse rather than aggressively scrubbing your ends.

Regular Wash Day Nourish & Restore Shampoo

A gentle cleansing option designed for your regular wash-day routine while helping the hair maintain softness and moisture.

When It's Time to Clarify Clarify & Balance Shampoo

Reach for Clarify & Balance when your hair and scalp need a deeper reset from excess oil, styling products, butters, or product buildup.

Shampoo Tip: Sometimes one wash is enough, and sometimes your hair may need two. Use Nourish & Restore for your regular cleansing routine and incorporate Clarify & Balance when you need a deeper clarifying cleanse.
02

Condition & Detangle

Follow cleansing with conditioner to replenish moisture, improve softness, and make detangling easier.

Unlike shampoo, focus conditioner primarily on your mid-lengths and ends. Work through tangles gently, beginning at the ends and gradually moving upward.

Nyche Hair Pick Moisture Miracle Rinse-Out Conditioner

Designed to hydrate dry hair while providing slip for easier detangling and improved manageability.

Gentle detangling matters. Aggressively pulling through knots can contribute to unnecessary breakage.
03

Deep Condition or Treat

Sometimes your hair needs more than your everyday conditioner. Treatments and masks can provide additional conditioning or target concerns such as dryness, breakage, weakness, or damage.

Rich Moisture + Deep Conditioning Banana & Coconut Butter Melt Mask

A rich moisturizing hair mask formulated with ingredients including Banana, Coconut Milk, Amla, Aloe Vera, Avocado, and Mango Butter. A great choice when your hair is feeling dry and needs extra softness, moisture, and conditioning.

Moisture + Length Retention Chebé Leave-In Treatment

A rich moisturizing treatment that can be incorporated into routines focused on softness, moisture, and protecting the hair from unnecessary breakage for better length retention.

Strengthening + Repair Miracle Mask

A keratin-containing treatment designed for hair that needs additional strengthening support, especially hair experiencing weakness or damage from heat, chemical processing, or frequent manipulation.

Which treatment should you choose?

Choose Banana & Coconut Butter Melt Mask when your main focus is rich moisture, softness, and deep conditioning.

Choose Chebé Leave-In Treatment when you want a rich moisturizing treatment focused on softness and supporting length retention.

Choose Miracle Mask when your hair needs more strengthening and repair support.

Tip: More protein isn't always better. Balance strengthening treatments with moisturizing products based on how your hair responds.
04

Dry Gently

How you dry your hair matters. Rough towel drying can create unnecessary friction, which may contribute to frizz, tangling, and breakage.

Instead, gently squeeze or blot excess water from your hair using a soft cotton T-shirt or microfiber hair towel.

Avoid aggressively rubbing your hair back and forth—especially when your strands are wet and more vulnerable to manipulation.
05

Protect Your Hair

Hair care doesn't stop when wash day ends. Reducing unnecessary friction and manipulation can help minimize tangling and breakage.

At night, consider using a satin or silk bonnet, scarf, or pillowcase.

Protective and low-manipulation styles can also be helpful when they aren't installed too tightly and the hair underneath continues to be properly cared for.

The goal isn't to never touch your hair—it's to reduce unnecessary stress on your strands.
06

Moisturize

Apply leave-in products to damp or hydrated hair and choose the consistency based on what your hair responds to best.

Some hair prefers lightweight sprays and milks, while other hair responds beautifully to richer creams and butters.

Build It Your Way Choose Your Leave-In

Nyche Hair offers creams, milks, sprays, hydrators, and bond-supporting leave-ins so you can customize this step.

You don't need to use every leave-in at once. Choose the product—or combination—that fits your hair.
07

Seal With Oil

After adding water and/or a moisturizing leave-in, oil can be used to help seal in moisture, add shine, lubricate the strands, and reduce friction.

Nyche Hair Oils Soothe + Essence

Incorporate your preferred oil as a pre-shampoo treatment, on your lengths and ends after moisturizing, during scalp massage if tolerated, or to soften a styling-product cast.

A little goes a long way. Start with a small amount. If scalp oils cause itching, irritation, or buildup, keep oils primarily on your lengths and ends.
08

Style & Define

Once your hair is moisturized, finish your routine with styling products based on the look you want.

Curls + Definition Puddin' + Juicy

Great options for curls, coils, twist-outs, braid-outs, and styles where you want moisture with definition.

Hold + Sleek Styles Pink GEL-O

Reach for stronger hold when styling sleek looks, braids, locs, or edges.

More isn't always better. Excessive product layering can create buildup and weigh down your hair.
Step 6 Made Easy

Which Leave-In Should I Choose?

Pick the texture and benefits that fit your routine.

Nourish Leave-In Cream

A rich moisturizing leave-in with ingredients including Agave Nectar, Black Seed Oil, and Shea Butter.

Creamy Moisture

Amla & Rice Leave-In Milk

A moisturizing detangling milk designed to provide hydration, slip, and easier detangling.

Moisture + Slip

Honey Butter

A richer daily moisturizer featuring Manuka Honey and conditioning ingredients for dry hair and protective styles.

Rich Moisture

Luster

A biotin-infused lightweight detangling spray and hair tonic for refreshing, detangling, and everyday hair care.

Lightweight Spray

Coconut & Honey Curl Hydrator

A lightweight hydrating option that works beautifully as the first step of an LCO routine or between-wash refresher.

Hydrate + Refresh

Hydra-Bond

A bond-supporting leave-in and detangling treatment designed for hydration, slip, softness, and manageability.

Bond Support + Slip
Keep It Simple

Your Routine Doesn't Have to Be Complicated

Eight steps explain the full process, but your everyday routine can be much simpler.

01 Cleanse
02 Condition / Treat
03 Moisturize
04 Seal / Style
05 Protect & Repeat
1. Cleanse

Wash your scalp and hair according to your needs. Use Nourish & Restore for your regular wash routine and reach for Clarify & Balance when your hair needs a deeper cleanse from buildup.

2. Condition / Treat

Follow shampoo with your regular conditioner. When your hair needs something extra, incorporate a deep treatment such as Banana & Coconut Butter Melt Mask for rich moisture, Chebé Leave-In Treatment for moisturizing care and length-retention support, or Miracle Mask when your routine needs more strengthening support.

3. Moisturize

Apply a leave-in cream, milk, or spray to hydrated hair. Choose lighter or richer formulas based on what your hair prefers.

4. Seal / Style

If your hair benefits from oils, apply a small amount after moisturizing. Follow with your preferred styling product if needed.

5. Protect & Repeat

Maintain your hair between wash days with gentle handling, nighttime protection, and low-manipulation styling. Cleanse again when your scalp and hair need refreshing.

Hair Growth vs. Retention

Don't Forget About the Hair You Already Grew.

One of the biggest misconceptions about growing longer hair is that everything comes down to making hair grow faster.

Hair growth occurs at the follicle, but keeping the length you grow also depends on what happens to the hair strand afterward.

If your ends continuously split and break, it can appear that your hair isn't gaining length even while new growth is occurring at the scalp.

That's why length retention matters. Appropriate cleansing, conditioning, moisture, gentle detangling, protection, and reduced unnecessary manipulation can help minimize breakage and help you retain more of your existing length.

Moisturizers and oils don't magically make the hair shaft grow faster. Their value is in helping you care for, lubricate, and protect the hair you already have.

Your Routine Is Personal.

There is no single perfect hair routine. Some people need to wash frequently, while others prefer longer intervals. Some hair loves rich creams and butters, while other hair becomes weighed down easily.

Pay attention to how your hair responds. If it feels dry, adjust your moisture routine. If products are sitting on the hair or it feels coated, you may need to cleanse more thoroughly or use fewer products.

If you're experiencing breakage, look at your detangling habits, styling tension, heat use, moisture balance, and overall routine. Consistency matters more than trying every new technique you see online.

At Nyche Hair, we create products that can be mixed and matched so you can build a routine around your hair's needs.

Your hair is part of you—so let's start taking better care of it. ♡
